Lilly Klug was born in Vienna, c. 1910, to parents Gisela Klug (1885-1942) and Salamon Klug (?-1938). Her parents had a small garment shop. Lilly's brother, Paul, left Austria in early 1938 and eventually settled in Greenwood, North Carolina. Lilly's fiance, Richard Isler, was arrested during Kristallnacht and sent to Dachau.
